Black cat portrait update

I have been busy today so not got a lot of artwork done, but managed to spend about an hour doing a little bit of Vada the cat's pet portrait. Here she is so far:

Here is an update on one of my current commissions - a beautiful black cat called Vada. Her portrait is 12" x 16" in graphite.

It's nearly Christmas!

I had my first query for a Christmas pet portrait a couple of days ago - I can't believe it's that time already, these people are so organised.

Pet portraits make fantastic Christmas presents - they are incredibly personal and are an excellent way to preserve a memory of a past pet. If you can't get hold of photographs I also sell Gift Vouchers so you could always give a voucher instead.

Cat ACEO's for sale

I have completed a second cat's eyes ACEO today and have put it, along with the one I did ages ago, on ebay today. It's of a black cat this time and is in coloured pencil. Both are up with a starting price of £14.99. Here's a reminder of the first one I did:

Cat Pet Portrait started

I started a new pet portrait today. This one is of a cat. It is from a voucher I donated to an online auction in aid of greyhound rescue, so assumed I would be drawing a Greyhound - imagine my surprise when I was sent photographs of a beautiful black cat! It is 12" x 16" and in graphite. The paper is white, I had to darken the scan so you could see the outline.

Highland Holiday attractions

My Mum and Dad have been visiting us since Wednesday, so we have been going out visiting some local sights in the Caithness and Sutherland area. Yesterday we visited Dunrobin Castle. The castle itself is open to the public as well as their beautiful gardens and they also do a falconry display twice a day. Here are some pics:

These two are from the falconry display. The Owl in an Eagle Owl and the Hawk is a Harris Hawk. They have inspired me to attempt a bird of prey at some point.

Today we visited Bettyhill along the North Coast then went in a circle via Kinbrace and back up to Melvich. We then went to Duncansby Stacks and visited Seal Beach. Can you guess how it got it's name??
